During the Cold War, the British Army needed to provide their armored units a highly mobile tracked self-propelled anti-aircraft gun. The Marksman consisted of a turret mounting a Marconi Series 400 radar system and two Swiss Oerlikon 35 mm twin autocannons. The system was installed on the hull of a Chieftain Main Battle Tank hull.
